Bristol Charities delivers Community Development Services to Older people across Bristol. Our work involves bringing people together, fostering lasting friendships and consequently reducing social isolation and improving the health and wellbeing of older people.
It is shaped by local people's desire to improve services and activities for older people living in the area. Our approach has been to contact and bring together groups of older people to identify concerns, what they want to change or see happen, what they are doing already and the skills they can contribute.
This includes the establishment of an Advisory Group of Older People who make decisions on local developments. As a result of Advisory Group involvement, a wide range of activities have been set up with the local community and other partners in the Henbury and Brentry area.

We would like to encourage Older People from diverse backgrounds (including BME) to get involved in the Advisory Group to help shape the activities and services in Henbury and Brentry to remain representative for all.
Bristol Charities also looks to work in partnership with a variety of organisations locally and city wide to increase the breadth of activities and groups. Get in touch if you would like to explore the opportunities.
