We have just heard from Pearson Brothers that the order for our daughter's Electric Wheelchair is going through. This is such wonderful news because we’ve been battling for so long for so much. It’s such a huge help. What a wonderful charity that’s helped my disabled daughter. What a lovely start to the day for us. A million thanks. The Puma Pro 40 will really change her life. We will send some photos of her when we go to the Isle of Wight in September so you can see her out and about on holiday.

Community Based Projects

Bristol Charities is committed to supporting Older People and others to have choices in their lives, to be able to live near the people and places they care about and knowing that they are valued as contributing to the well-being of their community.

We deliver a range of local projects, community based projects and activites supporting older people:

  • Henbury and Brentry Community Projects
  • Greater Brislington Community Development for Older People
  • Hotwells and Redcliife Community Developement Project
  • Community Support Services

Our approach is to support Older people to make the most of their strengths and forge community networks that can promote their independance. We use this approach to create new activities and support for older people in local communities throughout Bristol. We recognise that older people are keen to be involved in local (and wider) developments and to share and use their knowledge, experience and skills. All of our Community Projects are led and co-produced with local Older People.
