Thank You Messages

At Bristol Charities we get a great sense of fulfillment and gratification from helping those in need, whether it be through our Grant Giving Schemes, our Day Care Services for older people, or for those that take residence in our award-winning Accommodation.

We'd like to share some recognition that Bristol Charities receive from various individuals and organisations that are thankful for the support:

Dear Sir, Madam and all who do the magnificient work at Bristol Charities,

You recently donated £120 to my mother, who has a damaged spine and neck; making sleeping very painful.

I got a memory foam from Bristol Bed Maker with other funds to make up the shortfall. It is wonderful!!! Thank you so much it really makes a difference!

Dear Ms Anketell,

Once again, we would like to thank you most sincerely for the help you have provided for two of our "self-builders". We in SSAFA are most grateful for your continuing support, especially to these worthy ex-military lads. I am so glad that they will now shortly be able to move into their own accommodation and have the chance of a new life.

To the staff at Bristol Charities,

One great big, whopping, humungous THANK YOU for helping and providing me with a mobility scooter. Jim from Pearce Bros has helped me from the start in downloading a form from Bristol Charities. I am now the happy user of an Invacare Comet 4 - wheel 8 m.p.h scooter. This has given me another lease of life. I am too chuffed for words!!

We have just heard from Pearson Brothers that the order for our daughter's Electric Wheelchair is going through. This is such wonderful news because we’ve been battling for so long for so much. It’s such a huge help. What a wonderful charity that’s helped my disabled daughter. What a lovely start to the day for us. A million thanks. The Puma Pro 40 will really change her life. We will send some photos of her when we go to the Isle of Wight in September so you can see her out and about on holiday.

Thank you so much for your grant of the 11th [March 2015]. I haven't yet managed to contact Mrs T but I know that she will be delighted and extremely grateful. She does not have an easy life and I am so pleased that you have managed to make it a bit easier. Once again, we in SSAFA would like to thank you most sincerely for helping one of our worthly local clients.

I want to say a big thank you for my new cooker that you paid for last month. Since I have had the new cooker my family have eaten better meals. It has been a big help to me and the family as every meal is more healthy and filling to us.

I am writing to thank you for what you have done for me. You have given me a life. I would not know where to begin to tell you what this means to me (my scooter). Without it, I do know that my life would be intolerable as I would be housebound again. I am now able to do a lot of things that I was unable to do before. Thanks to you I now can smile as life is better for me.

Thank you so much for the assistance that you have given me in my beginning stages of leading an independent life after coming out of treatment with ARA. It has been a scary and nervous time, especially trying to take on all the responsibilities at one time.

Thank you all for doing the work that means I can be supported and helped.

I am really happy here and feel most fortunate to have this lovely place to live in and to have Bristol Charities to turn to if there is a problem.

We at SSAFA are so grateful for your continuing support. We seem to be seeing more and more young veterans (if that's not a contradiction) who have been badly affected by their military service overseas.
