Bristol Charities, recognising the need for day
services for older people, has extended and refurbished a former
club in Machin Road, Henbury. The building opened as a centre
for services for older people on 10 January 2005.
The centre is equipped with a kitchen and dining
area and a number of activity rooms. The outside has been re-modelled
to provide ease of access.
The
centre provides a number of benefits for older residents of Henbury
and Brentry, including;
A
place to meet and socialise with other local older people
within a safe, supportive and attractive environment
A
range of creative activities and excursions to promote self-reliance
and to provide a focus for time spent at the centre. Such
activities are likely to include music therapy, art therapy,
and gentle exercise.
